Venture into Tynemouth Station during the weekend and you’ll find yourself surrounded by bargain hunters, in one of the busiest markets in the North East.
Entrance to the station is free, and the markets run all weekend, every weekend.
What’s on offer?
On both Saturday and Sunday you will find numerous ‘general’ market stalls selling a wide range of products. There are also many stalls specialising in antiques, crafts, art, bric-a-brac / collectables and jewellery. Have a look at the Traders Directory for a better idea of what some of our traders have to offer, and take a look at the Market Stalls section for a closer look.
Every 3rd Saturday of the Month we are joined by local farmers selling fresh produce.Fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, cheese, preserves and home baked goodies are all available at market prices.
Regular art and cultural events are held within ‘The Bridge’, the centre of which links the two station platforms together. This unusual exhibition space has been host to over 40 exhibitions since 1995 and supported by North Tyneside Arts, North Tyneside Council, Nexus, Station Developments Ltd and Friends of Tynemouth Station.
Toilets with disabled facilities are available on site.
Please note a strict no smoking policy is enforced throughout Tynemouth Station.
What time should I arrive?
The markets run every Saturday and Sunday from 9.00am to 4.00pm.
Make sure you get here early to grab those bargains!
